OakCliff Farmers Market

a splendorous family friendly good time!!!

On Saturday July 15th, the People's Party of Texas was invited to the For OakCliff farmers market, an event organized by the members of FOR OAKCLIFF.

From their humble beginnings in 2014 by Taylor Toynes and his W.W. Bushman fourth grade class, FOR OAKCLIFF has grown to be a proud jewel setting itself up to be the cornerstone of the Oakcliff superblock. That’s right!!! It all started with one man and a group of 4th graders. In the summer of 2015 they organized the first annual Back To School Festival to provide much needed supplies, resources and services to have a successful school year. This magnanimous event is still going strong and has now become only a part of the overall work that For OAKCLIFF provides to members of the community.

FOR OAKCLIFF expanded and opened its door to the community in a new community campus. With a 20,000 sq, ft. building ( formally the Moorland YMCA.) sitting on 10 acres of land, the campus serves as a safe space for the community and launching pad for current and future work design to liberate the OAKCLIFF super block from the effects of poverty and neglect.

For OakCliff & People’s Party of Texas.

The OakCliff Farmers market is hosted at the FOR OAKCLIFF community campus. This campus boasts a beautiful outdoor space shaded by a canopy of lush greenery of trees, stage and ample sitting. This is NOT your average farmers market!!! With a DJ and a multitude of vendors and activities this event is hosted on the first and third saturday of every month. It is a great way to meet and connect with members of the community, to meet and connect with the staff of FOR OAKCLIFF and have a splendorous family friendly good time.

The People’s Party of Texas is a new political party established by and for Texans, dedicated to eradicating corporate influence in our political processes, empowering People to take government into their own hands, ending capitalist exploitation of labor, and building a Community dedicated to helping the People Thrive in this time of rapid global change.

There are already many groups like FOR OAKCLIFF that align with this mission and are already doing the work in their local communities to bring real change and relief to local circumstances. The People's Party of Texas (PPOT) aims to be the connective tissue that brings all of these local groups together to see and realize their true collective potential. As this network of different groups understands that they are not just single fish isolated in their communities in the vast ocean that is Texas, we will begin to act in harmony. With all of us swimming in the same direction the only destination is a new society that can finally deliver on the long awaited promise of liberty and justice for all.
