Party membership requirements

Our guidelines for membership are simple: all members must agree to our Foundational and Unity Principles (posted below) during a Core circle meeting. Acceptance of these principles is our only determining factor when it comes to who may become a member of our Party, which is confirmed through our consent-based process. The only distinction between members that we recognize (besides the various circles a member may belong to) is that of a dues-paying member, which does not grant any privileges above other members.

Becoming a member of the People’s Party of Texas grants an individual membership into our Core circle. From our Core circle, members are welcome to explore other circles, or start their own circles. Other circles outside of the Core circle manage their own membership, as we generally try to keep other circles small (this aids in consensus, focus, and organizational flexibility). Members will also be given the privilege of moderating the Discord channels of those circles they belong to.

Those who want to pursue membership, or just learn more about it, are encouraged to participate in a Core circle meeting.

  • We, the People of Texas, desire to…

…build a community and society outside the confines of state capitalism*

…collectivize all production into the hands of the workers who produce

…end state violence against the People

    …guarantee personal bodily autonomy

…ensure all People are cared for, nurtured, and fulfilled for their entire lives

…steward natural resources for the benefit of all People

…grant everyone the opportunity to learn, understand, and create new things

*State Capitalism: “A system of economic and political control in which a minority owns the means of production, and uses state violence to enforce that ownership.”

  • We, the People’s Party of Texas…

…minimize hierarchy, and will not allow power to be hoarded by a few

…share information openly, and will not withhold it to maintain power

…listen to all voices, and will not allow our friends to be silenced

…create shared visions, and will not force everyone into a single way of thinking
