A revolutionary workers movement by and for the oppressed populations of Texas

The People’s Party of Texas is a revolutionary workers’ party whose aim is to develop alternatives to the failing capitalist system. We are a collection of People who desire to develop and implement alternatives to capitalism, ranging across the spectrum of ideologies to include anarchists, communists, socialists, and libertarian-socialists. We are a networking hub for those wishing to get involved in a revolutionary movement, but without a direction or starting point. We are committed to educating our members and cadre on the possibilities of a world free from exploitative hierarchies, patriarchy, and capitalism.

Through our support of revolutionary movements, activist campaigns, and allied organizations across Texas, we will develop a class consciousness among the oppressed populations of Texas, and teach all People that a better future is possible!

Our core strategies for bringing about community-centered change are Labor Organization, Mutual Aid, Direct Action, Revolutionary Education, and Harm Reduction.

January 2024 - Prison abolition film screening

On January 26, we hosted a film screening of “Beyond 4 Walls,” a series of four short films that discussion the prison-industrial complex and the problems it causes, and hosted a panel with members of local organizations that support prison abolition. The event was held at the Hippie Hole in Denton. What a great time! Build a movement for the People of Texas that lasts

  • The People’s Party of Texas is not focused on pursuing an electoral strategy in a system that is rigged. We encourage our members to run for local elections, and to vote in alignment with their convictions, if they believe doing so will send a message to their communities and help foster change. We do not believe, however, that directly competing with the two-party duopoly is the best use of the People’s resources, when much more positive change can be brought about by building and nurturing communities.

    Unlike other parties, we are not afraid to demand those things that ALL Texans deserve, such as universal healthcare, an end to debt slavery, dismantling the state’s prison-industrial complex, and an abolition of violent policing. Our Circles, working groups, and candidates support the interests of the People, and will never accept a single cent from corporate donors.

  • The current two-party system is designed to exclude those who lack property and social standing, those who do not come from an accepted cultural background, and those who do not adhere to conformist, traditional ideologies. The People’s Party of Texas is for those who have been left out. We make no room for those who spread hate and fear through fascist, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and elitist class rhetoric.

    We support the establishment of an economic system where all who work enjoy the full fruits of their labor, and that wealth is not hoarded by an elite few who hold all the power. We encourage all workers to organize, both through traditional labor unions, as well as through other labor organizations such as syndicates and global labor movements.

  • Organizations dedicated to mutual aid, direct action, and activist organizing are often kept isolated and separate by the very technologies and media that are required to communicate in the modern, corporate-controlled information age. The People’s Party of Texas seeks to build bridges between these organizations and our communities. Organize differently

  • Traditional organizational structures in Texas politics are hierarchical, fostering groups where a few at the top make decisions for the masses at the bottom. The People’s Party of Texas is dedicated horizontal decision-making and REAL democracy, ensuring that all People are given a VOICE, not just a vote.

  • Decisions concerning the most important aspects of our lives should be made by us, not a ruling elite, nor the bureaucrats that serve them and enforce their policies. The People’s Party of Texas, organized into Circles, is structured to ensure decisions are made as close to those directly affected by them as possible. When we say “democracy,” we mean a system of decision-making where ALL People involved are able to contribute to those decisions, share their feelings about them, and work with friends to ensure the concerns and needs of all are addressed.

  • The goal of the People’s Party of Texas is not to raise money, take over state systems, or create jobs for “professional” activists. Our goal is to foster communities that are equipped to bring about change, and to build bridges between people, resources, and ideas.
