Sociocratic Consensus

In the sociocratic structure the People’s Party of Texas uses, decisions are made by consensus, not by the political maneuvering of a few individuals who hold all the power. This ensures that everyone’s voice is heard in the decision-making process, and that all Citizens are active participants in the movement we are building.

In order to facilitate consensus-building, we are committed to teaching and practicing open and honest communication techniques, such as Non-Violent Communication. Consensus-based decision making is a strange idea to many who are used to decisions being made by a single authority and passed on down, but it is a principle we as a Party are committed to practicing and promoting throughout our communities. By building consensus, rather than simply issuing orders, we ensure that democracy and transparency are maintained at all organizational levels.
